About Owen
I cut my teeth in the film industry working as a camera assistant for over 8 years, on the sets of TV dramas, films and commercials. It was here that I learnt from some of the very best in the industry, whilst always shooting my own projects alongside, nurturing my love of visual story telling.
I recently graduated from the Cinematography MA course at the National Film & Television School in London, under the guidance of Oliver Stapleton BSC and Stuart Harris.
I like to think of a film production as a live ball of collaborative energy that no one person could create. It is this aspect of film-making I find so stimulating, appealing to both my creative and social sensibilities.
In my career I aim to focus on films that reflect real life experiences and represent ideas and experiences that challenge mainstream culture. I am drawn to films that make an interesting and poignant input into the 'cultural conversation'.

Perfect! Owen is an excellent tutor - very dedicated, extremely knowledgable and experienced in cinematography and film in general. He has been a great motivator and tutor for my upcoming film project, and his expertise goes way beyond the camera.
Perfect! Owen is a brilliant cinematographer. He is so knowledgeable. He tailors his lessons to your needs. He taught me how to use my camera, helped me understand different lighting techniques and showed me how to balance a gimbal. No question is too simple or complex for him. He's kind, patient and has a great sense of humour. He can teach all knowledge levels; from beginner to advanced. I'd highly recommend booking a lesson with him.
