About Faafaleai

Hello! I’m excited to help you become a more confident English speaker. I hold bachelor’s degrees in Linguistics and Anthropology, along with a minor in English. My academic background has given me a strong understanding of how language works, how people communicate, and how culture can influence the way we understand and use language.

I believe learning English should feel encouraging, practical, and comfortable—not intimidating. Whether you are just beginning your English journey or already speak English and want to improve, I will meet you at your current level and help you work toward your personal goals.

My lessons are patient, supportive, and tailored to each student. We can work on everyday conversation, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, reading, writing, or simply becoming more comfortable speaking English. I use real-life situations and meaningful conversations so that what you learn can be applied outside of our lessons.

I understand that speaking a new language can make you feel nervous or unsure of yourself. In my lessons, you never have to worry about being judged for making a mistake or asking a question. Mistakes are part of the learning process, and every question is an opportunity to understand something better.

I also bring years of customer service and supervisory experience, which have strengthened my communication, listening, patience, and ability to work with people from different backgrounds. I take my responsibility as a tutor seriously and will come to each lesson prepared, respectful of your time, and ready to help you learn.

My goal is not simply to teach you English. I want to help you develop the confidence to use it—whether you are having an everyday conversation, attending school, preparing for the workplace, traveling, or communicating with new people.

Wherever you are in your English-learning journey, you are welcome in my lessons. We will learn at a pace that works for you, celebrate your progress, and build your confidence one conversation at a time.

About the lesson

Learning a new language can sometimes feel challenging, so my goal is to make every lesson welcoming, comfortable, and encouraging. I want my students to feel confident asking questions, making mistakes, and learning at their own pace.

My teaching approach is patient, interactive, and personalized. With my background in Linguistics, Anthropology, and English, I have a strong understanding of language, communication, and the important role culture plays in the way we speak and connect with others. I enjoy using everyday conversations, real-life situations, pronunciation practice, vocabulary, reading, writing, and grammar to make English useful and easier to understand.

A typical lesson starts with a friendly conversation or quick review of what we previously learned. From there, we focus on a topic or skill, practice it together, and finish with an activity or conversation that allows you to use what you learned naturally.

What sets me apart is that I understand everyone learns differently. I will take the time to get to know you, your goals, and the areas where you would like more support. There is no pressure to be perfect in my lessons—mistakes are simply part of learning!

My lessons are open to beginner, intermediate, and advanced English learners, including adults, college students, professionals, and anyone who wants to become more comfortable speaking English. Whether you want to improve your conversation skills, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, reading, writing, or simply feel more confident communicating in everyday life, I would be happy to help you along the way.
