About Ramsey
I believe that teaching should be a partnership between the teacher and student; I begin by getting to know you and learning which areas of the English language you'd like to focus on. I like to use authentic materials, such as English-language books, music, and videos, since it is easier to retain language if it's taught in context. My classes are taught exclusively in English; this may be difficult at first, but it creates the immersive experience you need to truly learn a foreign language. My teaching style is relaxed and friendly, but I still hold my students to a high standard in order to ensure their success.

I'm a native English speaker with a Bachelor's Degree with Honors in English from Skidmore College in New York. I spent three years teaching English in the United States, including two years teaching English as a Second Language, before moving to Rio and obtaining my TEFL 120-Hour Certification from Bridge Education Group. I love traveling the globe and meeting new people; I've spent time in Mexico, Spain, Germany, France, England, Croatia, Qatar, and Kuwait! I've seen how learning a foreign language can allow you to connect with people all over the planet, and I hope to empower you to do so by helping you master the English language!
