About Kate

After completing my PGCE training in the UK to teach English and History in Secondary school I went on to teach the 11-18 age group for over 8 years in a traditional classroom environment of between 25 and 30 pupils. I worked with students of all abilities during my time as a teacher and had excellent exam results across age groups, with my lessons rated as Very Good-Excellent when externally inspected. I have also done volunteer work as an adult tutor, working with groups of 15-20 and teaching basic Computing skills in a local community center.
I have since worked in other industries and have had close contact with training, interview processes and the work market in the UK. This puts me in an excellent position to help non-native students prepare for applying for work and for interview in the UK.
I have recently decided to put all my experience together online to provide classes for those wishing to learn English. I look forward to meeting new learners!

About the lesson

I provide an online Tutoring service in ESL at all levels, working with students to make sure they have the correct learning experience for them. My experience in the classroom allow me to use a variety of methods to make learning accessible. I aim for each lesson to be interesting, stimulating and encourage students to engage with the English Language as much as possible in our sessions. I have also worked in Retail and Hospitality Management and can provide excellent vocabulary building lessons, ideal for those coming to the UK to work in those areas who need to improve. I can also provide a CV (Curriculum Vitae) help service to make sure your CV is ready if you are looking to apply for work in the UK.
Unless requested my sessions take place on a one-to-one basis after an initial free half hour online consultation. This allows me to see what level learners are at before I create a learning experience for them. I am extremely easy to get along with, patient and will always aim to help students achieve their goals.

Details

A first half hour consultation lesson is offered free so I can assess your individual learning needs. After that Basic, Intermediate and Conversational practice lessons are charged at £20 per hour. Advanced and Business Language Specific Lessons are charged at £25 per hour. The CV and Interview preparation service I offer will vary in cost depending in Individual needs. This can be discussed, again in an initial free Consultation.
