About Lin Thu

I am a cybersecurity professional and experienced instructor with more than 8 years of hands-on experience in penetration testing and red teaming. Throughout my career, I have worked on real-world security assessments involving networks, web applications, Active Directory environments, phishing simulations, and adversary emulation.

I hold industry certifications including OSCP, CRTO, PNPT, Pentest+, Network+, CEH, and eJPT, and I have also spent several years teaching and mentoring students who are working toward careers in cybersecurity.

As an instructor, I enjoy breaking down complicated technical concepts into practical, understandable steps. I understand that every student learns differently, so I am patient, flexible, and happy to revisit topics until they make sense.

Whether you are completely new to cybersecurity, preparing for a certification, practicing on Hack The Box or TryHackMe, or looking to develop professional penetration testing and red team skills, I aim to provide a supportive learning environment built around practical experience and real-world knowledge.

About the lesson

I focus on practical, hands-on cybersecurity training rather than simply teaching theory. My lessons are designed around real-world penetration testing workflows, guided labs, CTF challenges, and step-by-step demonstrations so students understand not only what a tool does, but why and when to use it.

A typical lesson begins with a short explanation of the concept, followed by a live demonstration and hands-on practice using platforms such as TryHackMe, Hack The Box, and custom lab environments. Depending on the student's goals, lessons can cover Linux fundamentals, networking, Nmap and enumeration, web application testing, password cracking, privilege escalation, Active Directory attacks, Metasploit, BloodHound, phishing simulations, C2 frameworks, and red team methodology.

I have 8+ years of professional penetration testing and red team experience and hold certifications including OSCP. I also have experience teaching cybersecurity students with different skill levels, so I adjust the pace and technical depth based on each student's background.

My lessons are suitable for complete beginners, cybersecurity students, CTF players, certification candidates, and IT professionals who want to develop practical penetration testing or red team skills. The goal is to help students understand the methodology behind hacking rather than simply memorize commands.
