About Laia
Originally from France and Spain, I've built my life across five countries — Panama, Chile, Spain, Canada, and France. That restless curiosity about the world is exactly the energy I bring into every lesson. I'm a McGill University graduate in Political Science and Environment (3.93 GPA, merit-based scholarship recipient), and for the past two years I've had the privilege of teaching students ranging from young children to senior adults.
Having self-taught English to full fluency, I understand the language learning journey from the inside. My students describe me as patient, high-energy, and deeply invested in their success. I don't show up to lessons going through the motions — I genuinely love what I do, and that enthusiasm is contagious. Expect sessions that feel alive, not like a chore.
I teach French, Spanish, and English at all levels, and I also offer academic tutoring for students looking to boost their grades — because I know firsthand what it takes to perform at the highest level.

My approach is conversation-first: we jump into real dialogue from day one!
Lessons are flexible, engaging, and always moving forward.
Here's what a typical lesson looks like:
10-15 min: Core theory (vocabulary, grammar, idioms, etc.)
Guided conversation practice: Speaking about topics you actually care about
Natural feedback: Light grammar and pronunciation corrections integrated smoothly into our chat
I always leave a written digital record of everything we cover in class, and I can provide curated material so you can review at your own pace.
