About Alyssa
With over 4 years of experience teaching French, I specialize in working with children aged 5 to 12. I hold a Bachelor of Applied Languages in French with a focus on education, and I truly enjoy bringing the language to life for young learners. My teaching style is playful, interactive, and designed to spark joy. I use storytelling, songs, games, and movement to make each lesson feel like an adventure. These methods help children absorb foundational vocabulary, correct pronunciation, and simple grammar in a natural and fun way. I believe that learning a language should never feel like a chore. Through engaging activities and lots of encouragement, I create a space where kids feel safe to speak, explore, and make mistakes. My goal is to make every word and phrase memorable through creative repetition and meaningful connection. Over the years, I’ve seen how a joyful approach builds strong language skills that last. My French teaching approach is built around making the language clear, engaging, and useful for real-life and academic goals. I also prepare students for exams by focusing on key topics, past paper practice, and solid test-taking strategies.
To help with memory, I use simple but powerful techniques like visual aids, word associations, and regular spaced reviews. I pay close attention to pronunciation and listening skills, using audio clips and conversation practice to build confidence. Lessons are always adjusted to fit each student’s pace and learning style.
For those with personal or family ties to French, I create lessons that strengthen their foundation while also expanding vocabulary and fluency. If you’re learning French for travel or daily conversation, I focus on useful phrases, cultural tips, and real-world scenarios. My goal is to make learning French feel achievable and rewarding.
