About Nawal

My name is Nawal. I am fluent in French and English, a native Arabic speaker from Lebanon, and currently based in the UK. French has been part of my education from an early age.

I graduated from the American University of Beirut (AUB) and have always been passionate about languages, communication, travel, and different cultures. After university, I continued exploring languages by studying Japanese and Italian.
I have five years of private teaching experience, helping children and adults improve their French and become more confident communicating in the language.
My teaching style is patient, supportive, and adapted to each learner’s individual needs.
I hold a clear Enhanced DBS certificate with a Children’s Barred List check and am registered with the DBS Update Service.
Lessons are available online from Monday to Friday between 12:00 and 18:00, and Saturday between 12:00 and 16:00 UK time. I offer one- or two-hour sessions.

About the lesson

My French lessons are practical, structured, and adapted to each student’s level and goals.
I can help learners develop their speaking, listening, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, reading, and writing skills.
Lessons combine clear explanations, guided exercises, conversation practice, and useful real-life situations.
Complete beginners are guided step by step to build strong foundations. Intermediate and advanced learners can improve their fluency, accuracy, and confidence.
I also support GCSE students with grammar, vocabulary, speaking practice, comprehension, and exam preparation.
For children, I use interactive and engaging activities suited to their age and ability. For adults, lessons can be tailored to conversation, travel, work, studies, or personal development.
My aim is to create a comfortable environment where students are not afraid to ask questions, make mistakes, and progress at their own pace. Lessons are normally 60 minutes, with longer sessions available by arrangement.

I’ve known Nawal for over 28 years since I was the Country Executive of a major international bank in Beirut and she was one of my unit managers. Nawal speaks and writes fluently in French, Arabic and English. She taught me French and proved to be an excellent teacher. Nawal is a person of high integrity, honest and patient in her teaching approach and delivery. I would highly recommend Nawal to future students, who starting out or need a recap on any of these languages.
