About Yacine

Hello,

My name is Yacine. I came to Montreal for my studies but was born and raised in Paris, France.
I have always loved learning languages and have become proficient in several, so I know how intimidating the language-learning process can be (especially for French!). I will provide you with patience and a supportive environment where you can thrive linguistically!

I have a deep attachment to the French language. I have an excellent, all-encompassing level of French proficiency (from grammar rule knowledge to vocabulary and writing skills). I have received numerous distinctions that attest to that fact back in France, among them, a prize for finishing in the top 10 of “La dictée de Bernard Pivot,” nominations to “le Concours Général,” and the highest distinction at the French baccalaureate in the literary stream. In addition, I have extensive general knowledge of the francophone world.
This all makes me capable of helping even someone with an already advanced level improve their oral and written expression skills.

Moreover, I love teaching and connecting with others. I have gained a lot of experience working with refugees and younger kids. Therefore, I am confident in my ability to provide lessons to anyone, even someone starting from scratch. I am aware of the challenges people face when learning outside of a formal setting and am ready to tackle them together.

About the lesson

My teaching approach heavily relies on flexibility, balance, and open communication.
The most efficient and fulfilling lesson plans (and levels of course load, if any) should be customized to fit the unique needs of each individual. Some people thrive with different approaches, and I am confident I can provide the suitable one, whichever it may be.
My experience would allow me to quickly develop a concrete lesson plan and routine once I get an insight into your current level of proficiency, learning style, goals, and motivations.

I always remain attentive to someone's strengths and weaknesses so that their improvement can lead to them being as well-rounded as possible (again, considering their objectives). Therefore, I am always ready to adjust the lesson content to cater to one's progression so that we pay adequate attention to all areas that need improvement.

I am also highly responsive to feedback and suggestions because I want lessons to be as productive and enjoyable as possible. I strive to keep things stimulating and engaging as a part of my approach to the language learning process. I like having sessions centred around an interesting theme, with each lesson broken down into various activities to keep things exciting while maintaining a balanced progress. I can also bring up relevant cultural anecdotes or works of art to supplement the learning experience. In addition, I'm happy to provide diverse resources from different francophone backgrounds for students interested in increasing their general knowledge of the francophone world.
