About Marti
I have been tutoring math for 10 years, both privately, for schools and other companies. Many of my students say they would not have passed their classes without my help. I had one college student taking a math class for the third time; it was the last chance he would have to pass and get his degree; I was invited to his graduation ceremony!

I have a Masters in Education, Instruction & Curriculum for Math, and a Bachelors in Secondary Education with a Math emphasis. I have spent two years as a long-term substitute teacher (teacher on record) teaching Algebra I and Geometry, but I much prefer the one-on-one relationship I can build with students through tutoring. I have been tutoring or teaching math ever since I returned to school almost 20 years ago. I can tutor all levels of middle and high school, and some college math. My goal with my students is to take away the fear and explain not only the how, but the why, around solving math problems. I provide a lot of written materials, some developed during tutoring sessions, some pre-made, all to help the student understand what he/she is learning.
