My teaching method is targeted at having fun learning German with the help of songs, games and activities in a very structured manner. With my accent free German, I will train you to speak, read and comprehend like a native speaker, simultaneously preparing you for exams - A1 - C1. Imparting knowledge about German culture based on my life and experiences in Germany will be an intrinsic part of the training sessions. I can guide anyone with the prospects of relocating to Germany - short/long term : prospective students, families with children and corporate clients alike. I believe in personal contact - so let us start by having a conversation!
I am an Electronics Engineer with an M.S. degree from KIT Germany. I worked in a technology company in Germany for 13 years before relocating to Bangalore in 2018. I have a C1 level certificate from 2009 with in depth knowledge of German language and culture - both on the personal and professional front. I know the country, its language and its people as good as a native German.
I am Vijayalakshmi K currently residing in Bangalore with my family since April 2018. I come with a strong academic and technical background, although my varied interests include language, music, travel and education in addition to technology. I am an outgoing, dynamic person and I have fun learning and sharing my knowledge and experience with people from all walks of life. My professional experience in a multicultural setup has nurtured the goal oriented person in me and has honed my ability to produce results under all circumstances.
After completing my bachelor’s degree in (B.E.) in Electronics and Communication in May 2002 in India and gaining professional experience, I migrated to Karlsruhe in Germany in May 2005. In August 2007, I went on to acquire my Master’s degree (M.Sc.) in Information and Communication specialising in ASIC design from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, (formerly Technical University of Karlsruhe). Subsequently, I was employed with acam messelectronics gmbh (currently called ams sensors GmbH, Germany), as part of their IC design team from January 2009 - March 2018.
My first tryst with German was when I attended private tuitions to learn the language in 2004 to prepare for my migration. I completed the A1 level exam from the Goethe Institute in November 2004 and continued to learn German as part of my Master’s degree course from 2005 – 2007. I passed the TestDaF exam during my maternity break in February 2008 with TDN5-TDN5-TDN4-TDN5, equivalent to C1 level. Subsequently I was working with a German company in a multicultural team comprising predominantly of native Germans during my 9-year long career. Due to the fact that daily email communication, meetings and events at work were all in German and having raised a family with two children, aged 10 and 5 there, my confidence and comfort level in the language and the European culture has grown by leaps and bounds since my last official language test. As a hobby, I have also tutored 7- year old Indian kids in German to help them understand the basics of German grammar and reviewed their essays from school.
Currently I offer language training to corporate professionals at a leading German automobile company in Whitefield , Bangalore.
I would like to apply my multifaceted, multicultural, more than a decade long experience in my second home, Germany, to train and guide language lovers who want to learn German, students with dreams of pursuing studies in Germany, individuals and families with children relocating to Germany for short/long term.
