About Veronica
I'm a fourth-generation farmer. Daughter of immigrants living the American dream they once imagined. I am in the Horticulture department at Merritt College currently on a break due to renovations happening on campus. Aside from studying the many books I was so fortunate to rescue before demolition of our old buildings, I also study ancient herbalism. My days revolve around my children and my plants. Each sprout reminds me of the wonders of life and the process is a patient teacher who humbles me each and every day.

In the age of information a novice can easily get overwhelmed when doing simple research on any subject. YouTube remains an invaluable resource for education for millions across the world. With this access comes inevitable exposure to advertising and subliminal messages which affect the way we perceive the world around us, what we place value on, and even subconsciously alter our behavior. As with new skills, practice makes perfect but when it comes to gardening, it's a basic foundational knowledge about plants and how their environment affects them that makes the difference between success and failure. By taking this course we will discuss all aspects of your garden, what your dream garden is like and what level of commitment you have to it. Gardening isn't a one size fits all type of hobby. For many it becomes a life-changing lifestyle which one could say can become addictive. So beware, this course may turn your thumb green. You may experience euphoria and healing as well as a newfound appreciation for all living things and the ecosystems that keep them.
