About Serena
I have been teaching guitar for over 12 years, and I hold a Bachelor of Music Education with a focus on guitar. My passion is helping students connect with music on an emotional level while building strong technical skills. I believe that playing guitar is not just about hitting the right notes but about expressing feelings through sound. In my lessons, I focus on developing solid technique, music theory knowledge, and practical fluency across the fretboard. This well-rounded approach helps students become confident and creative players. I tailor each lesson to fit the student’s goals, whether they want to play classical pieces, improvise blues solos, or write their own songs. I enjoy working with all skill levels, from beginners to advanced players. My teaching style is patient and encouraging, making sure students feel supported every step of the way. I emphasize practice habits that lead to steady progress without frustration. Music is a powerful tool for self-expression, and I love seeing my students grow both technically and emotionally. My teaching approach focuses on helping students grow as guitar players through practical and creative learning. I emphasize learning through songs and exercises that match each student’s interests and skill level. For those eager to master blues and rock styles, I offer focused support to develop their phrasing and feel, helping them play with confidence and emotion. I also introduce related subjects like music theory, improvisation, and rhythm training to create well-rounded guitarists.
Creativity is key in my lessons. Students learn how to compose their own pieces and express themselves beyond just playing notes. I keep lessons flexible and encourage questions, making sure every student feels comfortable and motivated. Whether you want to play softly or shred with power, I’m here to guide you every step of the way. My goal is to inspire passion and help you reach your full potential on the guitar.
