About Alexis
Hi, I’m a guitar tutor with a Bachelor of Music in Popular Music (Guitar) and over 11 years of teaching and performing experience. I have played across genres including rock, classical, folk, and blues, which allows me to bring versatility and depth to my lessons. I enjoy helping both young learners and adult students build musical confidence while developing strong technical skills. My teaching combines structured practice with creative exploration, encouraging students to express themselves through music. I focus on technique, improvisation, chord progressions, and real-time playing, adapting each lesson to the student’s goals and style. Whether you are just starting out or aiming to master advanced pieces, I guide you step by step, ensuring progress is steady and enjoyable. I incorporate exercises, jam sessions, and performance techniques to make learning dynamic and engaging. My aim is not just to teach guitar, but to inspire a lifelong passion for music. Every student learns differently, so I tailor my approach to your pace, interests, and strengths. Together, we can develop both skill and confidence, making every session rewarding. My teaching approach focuses on helping students enjoy playing guitar while building solid technical skills. I cover all aspects of guitar, including improvisation, modal application, and real-time creativity. Lessons are designed for beginners to advanced players, adapting to each student’s style and goals.
I emphasize jam-based learning, encouraging students to experiment with riffs, chords, and melodies in real musical contexts. Technique and theory go hand in hand, so students understand how scales, modes, and chord progressions work. I help learners develop strong finger control, strumming patterns, and accurate timing.
Structured practice is combined with creative exercises, allowing students to apply knowledge immediately. I guide them in composing, arranging, and performing confidently. Whether a student enjoys classical pieces or contemporary jams, I provide strategies to excel.
I focus on building confidence, musical intuition, and personal expression. Mistakes are treated as learning opportunities, and achievements are celebrated along the way. Students receive continuous support, feedback, and encouragement to explore their potential fully.
