About Julian

Ciao! I’m Julian, an MD graduate who studied Italian at the university level and strengthened my fluency while living and completing a clinical elective in Rome. Because I learned Italian as a second language, I understand the challenges learners face and can explain concepts clearly from both the student’s and teacher’s perspective. I’m patient, approachable, and committed to helping you gain confidence in speaking, listening, and writing. Whether you’re preparing for travel, study, or professional work, my lessons are practical, engaging, and tailored to your goals. About the lesson

My approach combines structure with flexibility. Because I learned Italian as a second language, I can anticipate where students struggle and explain concepts clearly in English before reinforcing them in Italian. I use interactive conversation, targeted grammar drills, and cultural examples from my time living in Rome to keep lessons engaging.

A typical lesson starts with a short review of prior material, introduces a new theme (e.g., ordering food, medical vocabulary, or past tense verbs), and ends with role-play or conversational practice to build confidence.

What sets me apart is that I’ve been both student and teacher: I know the learner’s perspective and can simplify grammar without losing accuracy.
