About Kanako

Hi! I’m Kanako, a native Japanese speaker from Japan, currently living in Sydney

I’m a friendly and patient person, and I love meeting people from different backgrounds and sharing Japanese language and culture.

I’m currently learning English myself, so I completely understand how difficult and sometimes frustrating it can be to learn a new language! My English is at an intermediate level, so I may not always be able to explain complicated things perfectly in English, but I’ll always do my best to communicate clearly and help you understand.

I especially enjoy helping people become more confident speaking Japanese in a relaxed and comfortable environment. You don’t have to worry about making mistakes with me — making mistakes is part of learning!

Whether you’re learning Japanese because you love Japan, are planning a trip, enjoy anime or Japanese culture, or simply want to improve your conversation skills, you’re very welcome.

I’d love to help you enjoy learning Japanese and feel more confident using it in real conversations!

About the lesson

My lessons are relaxed, friendly, and focused on real Japanese conversation

I offer private, one-on-one, face-to-face Japanese lessons for people who want to practise speaking and become more comfortable using Japanese in real-life situations.

We can practise everyday conversations, pronunciation, natural Japanese expressions, vocabulary, and anything else you would like to focus on. I can also help you understand the differences between casual and polite Japanese and teach you expressions that Japanese people actually use in everyday life.

Beginners are very welcome! You don’t need to worry about making mistakes — we can learn at your own pace.

Please note that my English is at an intermediate level and I am still learning English myself. Because of this, my lessons are especially suitable for students who want to spend more time communicating in Japanese rather than having everything explained in English.

I believe this can actually be a great opportunity to immerse yourself in Japanese and challenge yourself to communicate naturally!
