About Keigo
Hi there! I’m Keigo, a Japanese American born in Los Angeles, raised in Chicago, and currently living in DC. I learned Japanese at Saturday school and have been using it daily through anime, dramas, and community events. I believe that using Japanese a lot is the key to improvement, so in my classes, we focus on practical conversation, listening, reading, and writing. Continuing Japanese from elementary school through college was challenging, but the experiences I gained along the way made learning enjoyable and led to real growth. I want to create a fun learning plan with you that allows you to use Japanese as much as possible, tailored to your interests. I value the power of enjoying learning. Looking forward to working with you! - I have worked as a tutor for two years at university, teaching beginner to intermediate Japanese, where I developed individualized teaching plans and improved student performance and retention rates. - With experience in tutoring from kindergarten to high school and teaching at a Japanese elementary school, I have strengths in designing age-appropriate materials and managing cultural events. - My experience managing events for Prime Minister Kishida's visit to the White House and serving as an assistant to the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology allows me to apply suitable educational practices.
