About Akihiro

Hello! I’m originally from the beautiful city of Nagasaki, Japan, and spent four years living in Tokyo before moving to Sydney, where I completed my studies in business management at the University of Technology Sydney. Now, I work as a bilingual professional here in Sydney, bridging Japanese and English cultures daily.

In addition to my work, I have a passion for kendo, a traditional Japanese martial art. As the captain of my university’s kendo team, I had the honour of leading us to a national championship victory, an experience that taught me dedication, teamwork, and leadership.

Having taught Japanese to people in both Japan and Australia, I understand the unique challenges that come with learning a new language. That’s why I’m here to support and guide you, making the process as enjoyable and rewarding as possible! I’m excited to help you dive into the Japanese language and culture at your own pace, and I look forward to being a part of your language journey. Let’s make learning Japanese a fun and enriching experience together!

About the lesson

I’ve had the pleasure of teaching Japanese to many learners by sharing experiences in language exchange events and living together in shared houses, where language and cultural learning happened naturally. Additionally, I’ve supported Japanese students’ learning in tutoring schools, which has given me insight into diverse learning styles and needs.

I’m dedicated to helping students at all levels of Japanese proficiency, so I offer a flexible and personalized approach. Instead of a fixed curriculum, I create a unique learning plan that aligns with each student’s interests, goals, and pace. Whether you’re interested in conversational practice, grammar, culture, or specific topics, I’ll tailor our sessions to suit your wishes.
