About Jerry

Photography has been part of my life since I was young, first learning from my father and later studying photography, design, and creative writing. That foundation grew into more than 35 years behind the camera and a career spanning commercial photography, creative direction, and filmmaking.

My photography work has included product, lifestyle, landscape, travel, food, documentary, and fine art photography. Along the way, I’ve had the opportunity to create work for brands and organizations including adidas Golf, TaylorMade, and Sundance Institute, as well as nonprofits and small businesses.

Teaching has also been an important part of my career. I’ve spent years training and mentoring creatives, clients, and team members, and I genuinely enjoy helping someone understand not just which button to push, but why they’re making a particular choice.

I’m approachable, patient, and practical. My goal is to help you become more confident with your camera, develop a stronger photographic eye, and understand how to take your images from capture through Lightroom to a finished photograph you’re proud of.

About the lesson

My lessons are hands-on, practical, and built around what you actually want to photograph. We can work on everything from getting comfortable with your camera and understanding exposure to composition, lighting, lenses, and developing a stronger creative eye. I can also help you explore travel, landscape, street, lifestyle, food, documentary, studio, and product photography.

We can take the process beyond the camera, too. I teach Lightroom for organizing, selecting, developing, and finishing your photographs, so we can work through the complete photographic process from capture to final image.

Every lesson is tailored to you. Bring your camera, your questions, and photographs you’ve already taken. We’ll look at what’s working, what could be stronger, and what you can do differently the next time you pick up the camera.

Whether you’re preparing for a big trip, learning a new camera, improving your portfolio, getting more comfortable with Lightroom, or simply wanting to make stronger photographs, we’ll start where you are and work through it together, one step at a time.
