About Sidney
Hi! My name is Sidney. I'm a professional photographer and Visual Communication graduate with a passion for capturing authentic moments. During my studies, I graduated with 20 distinctions, building a strong foundation in photography, visual storytelling, composition, lighting, and professional photo editing.
Through both my academic training and real-world experience, I've learned that great photography is about more than understanding camera settings, it's about knowing how to tell a story, work with light, and capture genuine moments.
I'm passionate about sharing that knowledge with others in a way that feels approachable and encouraging. Whether you've just picked up your first camera or you're looking to refine your skills, I'll help you build confidence through practical guidance, personalised feedback, and hands-on learning.
One of the most rewarding parts of photography is watching someone discover their own creative style, and that's exactly what I hope to help my students achieve. My goal is to give you the technical skills, creative understanding, and confidence to create photographs you're proud of and continue growing long after our lessons together.

Whether you're struggling with camera settings, finding your personal style, improving your composition, or editing your images, I'll guide you through the process at a pace that suits you. Every student learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to your experience level, learning style, and personal goals.
I teach in English and Afrikaans, offering one-on-one lessons covering:
Camera settings (Manual Mode, Aperture, Shutter Speed & ISO)
Composition and visual storytelling
Portrait and event photography
Working with natural and artificial light
Adobe Lightroom editing
Building a photography portfolio and developing your own style
My lessons are suitable for complete beginners, hobby photographers, high school and university students and anyone wanting to gain confidence behind the camera.
A typical lesson combines easy-to-follow explanations with hands-on practice. We'll spend less time memorising settings and more time understanding why they work, giving you the confidence to shoot in real-world situations. You'll receive personalised guidance, constructive feedback on your images, and practical exercises that help you improve after every lesson.
My goal is not only to teach you how to take technically strong photographs but also to help you develop your creative eye, tell meaningful stories through your images, and enjoy the process of becoming a better photographer.
