About Michele
I’m a writer, photojournalist, art director, and mentor with over a decade of experience in visual journalism. My work has taken me from editing at NPR and The Wall Street Journal to leading storytelling workshops in Nepal and India. I’ve commissioned, edited, and produced award-winning stories, and have mentored photographers at every stage of their careers. I believe in teaching photojournalism as a responsibility, helping my students develop strong narratives, ethical practices, and the confidence to share their work with the world.

I’m a photo editor, art director, and mentor with experience at NPR, The Wall Street Journal, and international non-profits. I’ve commissioned, edited, and produced award-winning visual stories for print and digital — and I’ve taught students worldwide how to tell compelling stories with integrity.
My Teaching Method
I focus on the full editorial process: from developing a strong story idea, to photographing in the field, to editing and sequencing for maximum impact. Lessons are practical, discussion-based, and built around your work — so you leave with skills you can immediately apply.
