About Me – Coach Matt

Boxing has been a huge part of my life, and I'm passionate about helping others discover the skills, confidence and benefits that come with learning the sport.

I'm a 2× New Zealand Boxing Champion and Golden Gloves Champion, as well as a qualified boxing instructor and personal trainer. Through my boxing journey, I've developed a strong understanding of the fundamentals that make a difference, from punching technique and footwork to defense, movement and ring awareness.

As a coach, I believe boxing should be accessible to everyone. You don't need to be naturally athletic, extremely fit or have any previous experience to get started. My approach is patient, supportive and tailored to each individual, helping you progress at your own pace while building genuine skills.

I enjoy helping people improve their fitness, develop self-confidence, learn practical boxing techniques and discover what they're capable of achieving.

My online lessons allow me to work with people from the comfort of their own homes, wherever they are in New Zealand. Every session is personalized to your goals, whether you're a complete beginner or someone wanting to sharpen their existing skills.

My philosophy is simple: focus on the fundamentals, stay consistent, enjoy the process and keep improving.

Learn Real Boxing with a 2× New Zealand Boxing Champion & Golden Gloves Champion

Want to learn boxing, improve your fitness, build confidence or develop real boxing skills from the comfort of your own home?

I'm Coach Matt, a qualified boxing instructor and 2× New Zealand Boxing Champion with Golden Gloves experience. I help people develop their boxing skills through personalised, one-on-one coaching tailored to their individual goals and experience.

My online lessons are suitable for beginners who want to learn the fundamentals, as well as those looking to sharpen their existing skills.

What you can expect from our lessons:

Learn proper punching technique and combinations.

Improve your footwork, balance, head movement and defence.

Build fitness, coordination and confidence.

Receive personal feedback, guidance and coaching at your own pace.

Train from home through live, one-on-one Zoom sessions.

You don't need previous boxing experience or an expensive home gym to get started. I'll guide you step by step and help you build your skills in a supportive, encouraging environment.

My coaching is about more than just throwing punches. It's about developing proper technique, improving yourself and enjoying the journey.
