Hi, I’m Zach. As a guitarist who’s performed live with multiple bands across a range of styles, I bring real stage experience into every lesson. I take pride in being a reliable, professional tutor who shows up prepared, focused, and committed to your progress. As a guitar tutor, my approach is all about making learning both effective and enjoyable. I specialize in rock and blues guitar, teaching beginner to intermediate players who want to build solid technique, improve their feel, and learn music theory to understand the music they love.
I tailor each lesson based on the student’s goals and skill level, but a typical session includes:
A quick warm-up and review of previous material
Introduction of new concepts (chords, scales, theory, or techniques)
Application through learning songs or solos
Ear training, improvisation, or rhythm exercises depending on the student’s interests
My teaching style is hands-on, student-led, and practical—I break things down clearly, encourage creativity, and always connect lessons back to real songs or playing goals. Whether you're picking up a guitar for the first time, struggling with barre chords, or trying to nail your first solo, I make sure each lesson moves you forward without feeling overwhelming.
What sets me apart is that I’m not just teaching theory—I’ve spent 7 years playing and performing, and as a final-year music student at Mohawk College, I blend academic training with real-world playing experience. I focus on helping students develop both their technical skills and their unique musical voice.
