About Marina

My name is Marina, and I am a certified Russian teacher for foreign students. I have completed specialized training in teaching Russian and hold several certifications, including "Theory and Methods of Teaching Oral Communication in Russian" and "Game Practices in Teaching Russian", among others.

I was born and spent most of my life in Russia. I hold a master’s degree in law and in teaching law from the Russian Federation. Additionally, I earned an LLM in European Business Law from a French university. For 10 years, I worked as a lawyer in Russia, but 4 years ago, I moved to France. That was when I decided to focus on my second vocation: teaching. To prepare for this new path, I completed additional training in teaching Russian as a foreign language, allowing me to share my language with professionalism and passion.

As someone who has been learning foreign languages for many years, I understand how it can sometimes be tedious. Through my experience as both a student and a teacher, I have identified the keys to learning a language quickly and without monotony: clear explanations of grammar basics, the acquisition of new vocabulary followed by immediate practice, and the use of varied and interactive materials. These include not only textbooks but also modern resources such as images, games, videos, podcasts, and even content created by bloggers.

In my lessons, I use tools tailored for both French and English speakers, including textbooks where grammar is explained in a simple and schematic way. I also utilize interactive platforms that make learning Russian fun through quizzes and engaging activities. Depending on your interests and goals, I can recommend YouTubers, podcasts, or even modern Russian music to enrich your learning experience while keeping it enjoyable.

  • When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?

I developed an interest in the Russian language during my high school years. The rich history and culture of Russia fascinated me, and I was eager to understand it in its original language. The complexity and beauty of the Cyrillic script also intrigued me, making me want to learn more and dive deeper into the language.
  • What makes you passionate about your subject?

My passion for the Russian language stems from its depth and expressiveness. Russian literature, with its profound works by authors like Dostoevsky and Tolstoy, offers unparalleled insights into human nature and society. Additionally, the ability to communicate with native Russian speakers and understand their perspectives is incredibly rewarding. This passion drives me to share my knowledge and inspire my students to appreciate the language and culture as much as I do.
  • What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?

Tutoring allows me to witness the progress and achievements of my students firsthand, which is immensely satisfying. I enjoy creating tailored lesson plans that cater to each student's unique learning style and needs. My commitment to their success, combined with my deep understanding of the Russian language and culture, makes me a "Superprof." I strive to make my lessons engaging, interactive, and impactful, ensuring my students not only learn but also develop a genuine interest in the language.
  • Do you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you? Please explain.

Yes, I had a remarkable Russian literature professor in college who truly inspired me. Her enthusiasm for the subject and her ability to bring complex texts to life left a lasting impression on me. She had an exceptional way of making each student feel valued and capable, fostering a positive and encouraging learning environment. Her teaching style and dedication have greatly influenced my approach to tutoring.
  • What are your keys to success?

My keys to success include a genuine passion for the Russian language, a deep commitment to my students' progress, and a continuous desire to improve my teaching methods. Patience, adaptability, and effective communication are also crucial. I believe in setting clear goals, maintaining a positive attitude, and creating a supportive learning atmosphere where students feel comfortable to ask questions and make mistakes. Continuous learning and staying updated with new teaching strategies also play a vital role in my success as a tutor.
