About Training

My journey as a Latin dance instructor began with a deep passion for salsa and bachata. I first learned these dances in Cali, Colombia, a city renowned for its vibrant salsa scene and rich dance culture. Immersed in the heart of this dance community, I was able to refine my technique and understanding of the intricate rhythms and movements that define Latin dance.

After several years of training and performing in Colombia, I moved to the United States, where I began sharing my knowledge with others. For the past seven years, I have been teaching salsa and bachata to a diverse group of students across different age groups and skill levels. Whether it's helping beginners find their groove or working with advanced dancers to perfect their technique, I’ve enjoyed every moment of guiding my students through their dance journeys.

Through my teaching, I've seen firsthand the joy that these dances bring to people from all walks of life. It's incredibly rewarding to watch my students gain confidence, improve their skills, and experience the cultural richness that comes with dancing salsa and bachata. I continue to learn and grow as an instructor, always striving to create a positive and inspiring environment where everyone can thrive, no matter their starting point

About the lesson

My dance lessons are designed to be fun, engaging, and tailored to the individual needs of each student. I offer both group and private lessons, either in pairs or solo, depending on the preference and goals of the student. Each lesson is structured to help students feel comfortable, confident, and challenged at their own level.

For group lessons, I typically teach in a dynamic, interactive format where students are encouraged to partner with different people during the class. This helps build adaptability and social dancing skills, which are essential in salsa and bachata. For private lessons, I focus on personal attention, working one-on-one with the student to refine their technique, address specific challenges, and accelerate their progress.

I adapt my teaching style based on the level and experience of each student. For beginners, I start with the basics—introducing them to the rhythm, posture, and footwork of salsa and bachata in a way that’s easy to understand. As students advance, I incorporate more complex patterns, styling, and musicality. I always emphasize the importance of leading and following in partner work, as well as how to communicate with your dance partner through body language and movement.

All lessons are taught in person, providing the opportunity for real-time feedback and immediate corrections, which I believe is key to effective learning. I make sure that each class is a supportive and positive space, where everyone feels encouraged to try new things and make mistakes without fear. Whether you’re looking to dance socially, improve your technique, or just have fun, I adapt the lessons to meet your specific goals.
