About Rossella

I have been working professionally in the music industry for the past 16 years. In 2014 I got my degree in Performing Arts and then I left Italy (where I'm from) to travel the world and sing in luxury resorts in Madagascar and Thailand. I also studied Music in Finland and the UK. In 2017 I moved to Sydney, Australia, and played 400+ gigs mainly for the Italian Community around Australia. I am now touring Australia premiere Australian Pink Floyd tribute band. I also obtained my Australian Permanet residence through the Global Talent visa. I have been teaching singing for 8 years and became a Modern Vocal Training Vocal Coach and got to study with the best vocal coaches in the world. I am the sole representative of this method in Oceania. I have passion, curiosity, and such a level of excitement for discovering students' real voices! :)

You'll learn how to sing easily with a strong, natural, and healthy mixing voice. After a little chat about yourself and your singing goals, I will check your voice with a simple scale and I will give you custom-made exercises specifically for your type of vocal issue in order to improve even from the very first class. We will work on connecting the voice throughout the vocal registers and across the vocal bridges (in Italian "Passaggio di Registro" - passage of registers). We'll work on - Scales - Vocal Bridges - Connecting Vocal Registers - How technique will serve the style - Songs and choice of repertoire The ultimate goal is to give you the freedom to sing whatever you want in every style you desire. *You will be surprised about how many things you can learn about yourself simply by freeing your voice! :)* Classes are perfect for: Every Level: Beginners to Advanced Every style: from Pop to Soul, Rock, and Opera Adults +16 The typical length of a class is 45 minutes

Find out more about Rossella

  • When did you first develop a passion for music and your favourite instrument?

I grew up listening to jazz music since my father is super passionate about it. I started singing with my mum, who loved to record herself on cassettes singing the most famous Italian songs during the 90's. I started singing and recording myself for fun. Then slowly it became something I enjoyed so much, so my mum found a vocal teacher in my area when I was 14. From that moment I never stopped taking singing classes and developing a passion into a career.
  • Is there a particular type music or artist that you listen to on a loop without it driving you crazy?

I listen to so many kinds of music. What intrigues me more is funk-jazz. It's groovy, it's special, and you never stop discovering some instrument lines that make it so cool!
  • Explain to us the most difficult or 'riveting' lesson you could personally give to one of your students.

In the beginning, I was bit inexperienced and not confident about how to pass what I knew and learned in so many years. I believe my very first class as a singing teacher was the most difficult one, adding that the student was also quite arrogant, I might say it was traumatizing, but we always learn from mistakes!
  • What do you think is the most complicated instrument to master and why?

I believe voice is not an easy instrument at all. It's an organic instrument, you don't see it, you cannot touch it and you don't feel it. It's very hard to get in touch with your own voice, knowing you use it and you don't even know how. It is the portal of communication and we carry our trauma with it. I can understand the character of a person just listening to him/her talking, which says a lot.
  • What are your keys to success?

Strong drive, ambition, determination, discipline, perseverance, and education, education, education.
  • Name three musicians you dream of meeting in your favourite bar in the early hours of the morning. Explain why:

Joss Stone, because she is all a woman needs to be in my opinion: talented, soulful, kind, sensual, light, floral, and I like to think she has quite a fresh smell 😄

Pink, because she's a bomb of energy, she's a 360-degree artist, she's an inspiring being and a wonderful mum.

Alicia Keys, because when she talks about songwriting she brings you in a magical world.
  • Provide a valuable anecdote related to your musical journey, or your days at 'music school'.

I attended several music schools in my life, and I often found teachers who told me just how good I was. Well, that was not enough for me, because I was definitely struggling in many aspects. It didn't matter to me to receive just compliments, I had the urge to improve. Finally just around 5 years ago, I found the teachers who really loved their job, and cared so much about the improvement of students' voices.
  • What are the little touches that make you a Superprof in music?

I never stop my own education, I always continue to be up to date as a vocal coach and as a singer so as to pass all my knowledge and experience to my students. I also love to cultivate my emotional health in any form possible, from meditation, yoga, journaling and being emotionally stable as much as possible is one of the characteristics I'd also love to have from my teachers, so I do my best to be like that.
