With 28+ years of professional training/performance experience & many honors including being chosen for “The Arts Issue” cover/featured article of the (201) Magazine, Rachel Menconi has been able to share her voice, acting skills, directing skills, choreography, & performing arts expertise with students as well as audiences for over two decades.

Rachel feels so fortunate that she's able to share her passion of the arts through performing, teaching, directing, & writing! Her students have been accepted into performing arts programs, gone on national tours, released albums, cast in Regional/Off-Off-Broadway/Off-Broadway Theatre, Movies, On-Demand (Netflix), web-series, music videos, print work, & on TV. I needed to receive this certification so I could be the assistant director, assistant music director, and choreographor for the school musicals at Our Lady Of Mercy in Park Ridge NJ. "Protecting God's Children for Adults is training conducted by VIRTUS certified facilitators on the prevention of child sexual abuse. The training makes participants aware of the signs of child sexual abuse, the methods and means by which offenders commit abuse, and five easy steps one can use to prevent child sexual abuse. Two videos are the centerpiece of the training: A Time to Protect God's Children and A Plan to Protect God's Children. The facilitators incorporate policies and procedures into the training defining child sexual abuse, addressing the reporting of child sexual abuse, the screening and selection of employees and volunteers, and victim advocacy."

About the lesson

Every lesson consists of a vocal/physical warm up & at least one or a combination of the following: song singing, vocal technical breakdown of the song/technical blueprint, vowels, vocal health tips, building vocal
listening skills, building "singing by feel" skills, artistry, ear training/music theory, musical games, building breath control, building vocal stamina/range/tone/quality, and technical notes will be given/kept in a physical as well
as a digital notebook so that each student can always reference it even after lessons are over. Each lesson is designed specifically with the student’s needs/goals in mind to gently challenge the student without intimidation,
without tearing the student down and without taking away what makes the student unique!

Whether you are a parent looking for instruction for your child or for yourself, Rachel customizes the right program that best suits your needs. Her students come from all walks of life and have different goals, but they all have one thing in common. They love performing and have the desire to be the best at their chosen craft (singing/acting). No matter what your goals are, she can help. Rachel teaches her students how to become true artists. Learning how to sing is a process that doesn't happen overnight. Rachel's ultimate goal as a teacher is to not only help her students achieve their singing/acting goals and make her students the best performers they can be, but to also give them all of the proper tools they need to have a more productive mind frame and become self-sufficient while building confidence. Everyone learns at their own pace. It takes time and dedication.

Rachel is all about communication as well as being open and honest. Both the student and the teacher need to feel comfortable in the lesson in order for the most growth to occur.

ONLINE STUDIO POLICIES-

CANCELLATION: 48 hour lesson cancellation policy and emergencies (determined by Rachel Menconi) are handled on a case by case basis. All students (or their parent(s)/guardian(s) if under 18) who have scheduled vacations and other activities (meetings, parties, school shows, concerts, rehearsals...etc) that interfere with the student’s regularly scheduled lesson time, are expected to contact Rachel Menconi as soon as the vacation/other activity is scheduled but no later than two weeks in advanced before their missed regularly scheduled lesson.

MAKE-UPS: Make-Up lessons will be scheduled if time allows. No Make-Up lesson or class will be given to ‘no shows’ or “late cancellation”, and no extra time to extend their lesson will be given to students who are late to their lesson or class. If there is ever a time Rachel Menconi is running late, extra time will be given to make the lesson the full lesson time amount of time scheduled. If Rachel Menconi needs to reschedule, a Make-Up lesson will be scheduled as close to the same week as possible. Make-Up lessons are scheduled at Rachel Menconi’s discretion.

**Due to the pandemic, all lessons will now be held on a virtual/online platform until further notice. Online lessons are conducted through FaceTime, Zoom, Google Meets, Facebook Video Chat, or Skype.**

SCHEDULE:
Lessons are weekly or every other week, on the same time/day of the week unless we have rescheduled or we have discussed in writing another lesson plan. If the student’s lesson falls on a holiday, we will either reschedule or if no other day is available, resume the following week.

LATENESS:
If a student is going to be late they need to contact Rachel Menconi as soon as possible, to let her know they will be late. Lessons will end on time unless Rachel Menconi decides to extend the lesson due to a late student or her schedule allowing for it. However, please understand that if Rachel Menconi did extend the lesson time, she would be extending a courtesy and would not be obligated to do so. If on the rare occasion Rachel Menconi is running late, she will always make up the time.
