About Raymond
I’m a longtime speedcubing enthusiast and a mathematics graduate from the University of Texas at Dallas. I started cubing as a hobby and have spent years learning, practicing, and improving my solving techniques on my own. I am bilingual and I can teach in both English and Chinese Mandarin
My current 3x3 solves are typically around 13–14 seconds, with a personal best average of 5 of 12.44 seconds. Beyond 3x3, I have experience solving 2x2 through 7x7, one-handed 3x3, and Megaminx.
Because I learned speedcubing through years of practice myself, I understand how frustrating it can be to get stuck at a certain level or feel overwhelmed by new techniques and algorithms. I enjoy breaking complicated ideas into simple, manageable steps and helping students understand not only what to do, but why it works.
Whether your goal is to solve your first cube, impress your friends, or work toward faster times, I’d be happy to help you get there at your own pace.

Whether you have never solved a Rubik’s Cube before or already know how to solve one and want to get faster, I can tailor lessons to your current level and goals.
For complete beginners, I can teach you step by step how to solve a 3x3 cube from scratch, explain cube notation and basic concepts, and help you build good solving habits from the beginning.
For intermediate cubers, I can teach and improve CFOP, including Cross, intuitive F2L, OLL, PLL, finger tricks, lookahead, turning efficiency, and ways to reduce unnecessary pauses and rotations. I can also review your solves and help identify specific areas where you are losing time.
My current 3x3 solves are typically around 13–14 seconds, with a personal best average of 5 of 12.44 seconds. I also have experience with 4x4, 5x5, 6x6, 7x7, one-handed solving, and Megaminx, so students who want to explore puzzles beyond the standard 3x3 are welcome as well.
Lessons are relaxed and personalized. My goal is not just to give you algorithms to memorize, but to help you understand how and why they work, develop efficient solving techniques, and most importantly, enjoy getting faster!
