About Solveig
Hi, I’m Solveig, and Spanish has been an important part of my life for many years.
I’ve studied Spanish both academically and through real-life experience, including years of formal study, immersive travel in Latin America, and ongoing university studies. I’ve spent extended time in Spanish-speaking countries such as Costa Rica, Mexico, and Spain, where I return every year and feel very at home in the language and culture.
Along the way, I’ve worked closely with private Spanish tutors, which has given me a strong understanding of what actually helps learners make progress. I know where students tend to get stuck, and how to explain Spanish in a clear, structured way that makes sense to English speakers.
I bring this combination of study, travel, and hands-on learning into my lessons to help students feel more confident, understand the language more deeply, and enjoy the learning process.

My teaching style is practical, supportive, and focused on real communication. I help students build confidence step by step so they feel comfortable speaking, understanding, and using Spanish in real-life situations.
Each lesson is structured but flexible. We usually start with a short review to reinforce what you already know, then move on to new vocabulary or grammar explained through clear, simple examples. From there, we practice actively using conversations, role plays, and interactive exercises so you can apply what you learn immediately.
Lessons are always adapted to your personal goals — whether you want to improve your grades, prepare for exams, build a strong foundation as a beginner, or feel more confident speaking Spanish for travel or everyday use.
What makes my lessons different is the balance between solid academic knowledge and practical, engaging teaching. I study Spanish at university, which gives me a strong understanding of grammar and structure, while my teaching experience allows me to explain concepts clearly and in a way that actually makes sense to learners.
My lessons are a great fit for middle and high school students, beginners, and anyone who wants to develop confidence and fluency in Spanish in a clear, supportive learning environment.
