About Diego

My name is Diego, and my formation in languages has been shaped by both Latin America and the United States. I attended private schools in Latin America through my tercer ciclo, before completing high school in the US. Throughout my education, I consistently used Spanish in academic spaces, taking the highest-level courses available and ultimately achieving a perfect score in AP Spanish. In college, while pursuing a degree in Political Science and International Relations, I decided to challenge myself by learning a third language. I studied French for three years before being accepted into a rigorous program in Strasbourg, France. The Field Study and Internship program pushed me academically, immersed me fully in French culture, and gave me the opportunity to work in a professional environment abroad. My internship not only improved my language and intercultural skills, but also gave me valuable teaching experience as I volunteered to teach English to members of the local community. Over the years, I have visited more than ten countries and developed a strong passion for cultural exchange. Beyond my travels, I have taught and tutored languages in many settings — from volunteering as an English teacher during my internship abroad to tutoring Spanish in high school. These experiences taught me how to adapt to each student’s needs, whether they are learning for academic goals, professional development, or personal enrichment. As a native Spanish speaker who has also studied and mastered other languages, I understand both the beauty and the challenges of language learning. I bring patience, professionalism, and a supportive approach to every lesson. My goal is to help students not only learn Spanish, but also connect with the culture behind the language in a way that inspires confidence and lasting skills.

¡Hola! My name is Diego, and as a native Spanish speaker, I love helping others learn my language in a way that feels natural, practical, and fun.

My teaching method: I focus on real communication, not just memorization. That means we’ll combine grammar and vocabulary with everyday conversation, cultural insights, and interactive practice. I tailor each lesson to your goals — whether it’s improving school grades, preparing for travel, or becoming confident in professional settings.

A typical lesson: We’ll start with a short warm-up (like a conversation or listening exercise), then review key grammar or vocabulary in context, and finally practice through role-play, games, or real-life scenarios. I make sure you’re speaking Spanish as much as possible from day one.

What sets me apart: Because Spanish is my native language, I can give you authentic pronunciation, expressions, and cultural knowledge you won’t find in textbooks. I also know what it’s like to learn a new language, so I’ll keep things patient, supportive, and engaging.

Who my lessons are for: My classes are open to all levels — beginners, intermediate learners, or advanced students who want to refine fluency. I work with high school and university students, professionals, and anyone who simply wants to speak Spanish with more confidence.

If you want to learn Spanish in a way that’s practical, engaging, and connected to real life, I’d love to help you get there.
