About Diola

Kamusta! I'm a native Tagalog speaker and a first-year college student who is passionate about helping others learn the Filipino language with confidence. Growing up speaking Tagalog every day has given me a strong understanding of natural pronunciation, everyday expressions, and Filipino culture, which I enjoy sharing with my students. I am committed to providing well-prepared, organized, and engaging lessons that are tailored to each learner's goals and pace.

You can expect a professional, respectful, and supportive learning environment where questions are always welcome and mistakes are viewed as part of the learning process. I value punctuality, clear communication, and creating lessons that are both practical and enjoyable. Whether you're learning Tagalog for travel, work, relationships, or personal interest, I will do my best to help you build confidence and communicate naturally in every lesson.

About the lesson

Ma Buhay! My teaching style is based on making the learning process engaging and interactive for the students and teaching Tagalog language as it is spoken in everyday life by native speakers. I strive to provide my students with knowledge of proper grammar, pronunciation, and construction of sentences using practical ways such as dialogues, communication-focused training, and vocabulary building while explaining cultural specifics and nuances. Each lesson is tailored to the students’ needs, level, and learning goals. The lessons can be customized based on the learner’s preferences, schedules, and progress.

In my classes, I aim to begin the lesson with a friendly chat or a short discussion of the material covered in the previous classes and introduce the topic or the new vocabulary and grammar. We then proceed to practice dialogues, role-play parts of the lesson, and have listening and speaking exercises to consolidate the learned material. I also provide guidance on proper pronunciation and explain new words. At the end of the lesson, we summarize the key points and plan practice exercises for after the classes.

In my teaching experience, I found that the ability to teach the language as it is spoken by native people can be an advantage to those who are not familiar with the nuances and specifics of the language and its phonetics. As a native speaker, I am able to provide students with knowledge on how to speak Tagalog properly and naturally. I believe in the importance of patience and support in teaching, and I am dedicated to helping students achieve their learning goals in Tagalog.

I offer my tutoring services to those interested in learning Tagalog at any level: for travelers, students, those seeking a new hobby, professional development, or wanting to connect with Filipino people. My lessons can be beneficial to students of the language, as well as for those who wish to improve their conversational skills or gain a better understanding of the Filipino culture.
