About Evonne

Evonne has been a dancer her whole life and is a seasoned teacher and performer, having done numerous shows both on stage and television. Decades after dabbling in multiple dance genres (ballet, street jazz, hip-hop, modern and contemporary dance, traditional and Latin ballroom, flamenco, tap, belly dance, even traditional Balinese), she fell utterly in love with 'ori tahiti (Tahitian dance) in 2013. When she first heard the music, it touched her at such a visceral level that it moved her to tears. In all the decades spent dancing, this has never happened before. She realized she had found her dance--it felt like home and tamed that urge to seek out and flirt with other dance genres. She hasn’t looked back since. Her dedication to this dance form led her to train with 13 esteemed ʻori instructors from around the world, and eventually travel to Tahiti to further deepen her craft. She began teaching in 2017, when she was entrusted with leading classes at a school here in Singapore. When the school closed, she founded her own group, Te Here ‘Ori Tahiti, where she continues to teach and perform to this day. Her mission is to share her love of ‘ori tahiti and the joy it brings, as well as grow a tribe of ‘ori tahiti dancers right here in Singapore.

With a pareo on your hip, and tiare in your hair, you'll learn how to dance with grace, power, and sensuality, and move your hips like never before! ;) Through its evocative rhythms and movements, this expression of culture and identity not only celebrates the beauty and power of the female form, but also ignites a profound sense of freedom and self-discovery. With every sway of hips and beat of the drums, every woman is emboldened to express their deepest selves and find her own unique goddess, ready to emerge and shine. It's not just a dance form. It's a statement of strength, grace, cultural pride, and connection to Tahitian culture, inviting all to discover their inner strength, femininity, and radiance. After each class, your feet will be dirty, hair messy, your eyes sparkling, your heart full, your soul imbued with the mana of Tahiti!

Tahitian dance for women and for men are different. I am trained to teach ONLY women. I do not know male dance steps.

If you're looking for dance class for your child, it will have to be private 1:1 classes for girls, as I currently do not have children's group classes.
Total cost of private 1:1 classes:
> $160-190/h (at your dersired location, depending on distance)
> $160/h (Singapore Polo Club Dance studio--includes rental)

If you're keen to join our regular group classes, here are the details:
Day/Time: Sat/Sun, 530-7pm (90-min class!)
Venue: Singapore Polo Club
Cost per pax per class: $45
