About Sabayo
After years of honing my musical ability, I decided that I would share my gifts with the wider world, whoever was in resonance. I have been teaching music for almost two years now, and still take lessons myself! We never stop growing, and it's a sign of wisdom to be open to the possibilities that there may be more of a foundation and basic approach to expression.
My guiding principle is this: "Less is sometimes more". In an age of instant gratification and bumbling to the next 'big thing', it takes courage to slow down and connect with the heart space — this is what I encourage in lessons. I learn from the student just as the student learns from me. Together, we grace existence.

My teaching method builds from my teachers in the past, with an added twist of my own — we go over the foundations to movement and posture, how to relax while playing, and finding your own flow in learning.
Elementary cello and music theory requires nothing from you — only a willingness to learn and to let go of the concept of 'mistakes'. We go over foundational music theory and learn how to read music, with listening exercises and fun intonation games.
Lessons are cultivated from years of experience as a gig musician, as well as playing in all sorts of orchestras. Having a background in several different instruments also allows me to approach a lesson with a variety of skill sets and analogies.
These beginner lessons are a co-creative experience, and are tailored to each individuals needs, whether adult or child.
Music is a medium of expression, and I teach the foundation of love behind all that we do — what else is there to teach and remind each other of?
