About Ricky
Hello!! My name is Ricky Ajeeth, and I am a professional and a passionate guitarist with 5 years of experience. I started my guitar journey back in 2020 when the peak COVID time hit. It was peak pandemic, and I was really bored, so I decided to get an electric guitar and learn all of my favorite metal and rock songs. I understood the basics of the chords, and I got my way around the fretboard only by learning the songs that I love. I am a big fan of modern metal bands, and I often try to learn more from them. After a year of learning to play the guitar, I managed to finish Grade 1 in Rock and Pop from Trinity with distinction. But my learning journey didn't stop there; I started getting into the basics of dialing in the perfect tone. Which led me to learn more about FL Studio and the art of production and mixing. With all these skills, I managed to participate in a few online solo competitions. During my college years, my live performance journey started. I formed and joined bands like Dimensity, Just A Phase, and Volume 196, and I had played multiple shows, competed and won a few battle of bands alongside them. I am currently with a band called Short Circuit, and I have a lot of achievements alongside them. In total, I have won 12 Battle of Bands within a year. Regardless of all these achievements, I still strive to do better and do more. I started out by being a self-taught guitarist, but there were a lot of things that I wish I had been told about. Which is why I am here to teach you about those things that can help you become a much better guitar player in a much shorter period.

My teaching approach is hands-on, personalized, and goal-oriented. I focus on building a solid foundation in guitar—whether acoustic or electric—while nurturing the student’s creativity and confidence. I combine ear training, technique-building exercises, basics of music theory, and song-based learning to keep the sessions both educational and engaging. I use real-world examples and custom exercises, integrating genres like rock, pop, blues, and indie, depending on the student’s interests.
For electric guitar students, I incorporate techniques such as power chords, palm muting, soloing, improvisation, and tone shaping using pedals or amp settings. I also introduce students to the basics of live performance—like stage presence, gear setup, and signal flow—to prepare them for performing in bands, at gigs, or in jam settings.
I also have bonus lessons on introduction to FL Studio for music production. Students learn the basics of recording guitar, layering tracks, using EQs, compressors, and FX chains to create polished demos or practice tracks. This helps bridge the gap between playing and producing music.
Usual Structure of a Class:
Each class typically follows a structured yet flexible format:
Warm-Up & Review (5–10 mins) – Finger exercises, chord transitions, or scale practice.
Main Lesson
For beginner guitar players:
Basic understanding of the instrument, teaching chords, teaching on how to use a tuner, teaching basic songs that help players navigate the fretboard.
For players transitioning from a beginner to intermediate:
New concepts, techniques, or songs. Depending on the student’s level, this could range from chord progressions and strumming to lead guitar phrasing or effects.
Application:
Playing along with backing tracks and learning to jam
Music Production Basics (Optional)
For interested students, I touch on basics of recording guitar parts, working with MIDI, mixing in FL Studio, or building a basic song idea.
Who the Classes Are For:
Anyone who wants to start learning the guitar, regardless of age or anyone who wants to transition from a beginner guitar player to an intermediate guitar player.
Whether you're picking up a guitar for the first time, looking to jam with others, or interested in recording your own songs, my classes provide a structured yet creative space to grow as a modern musician.
I emphasise patience, progress over perfection, and consistent encouragement to help students stay motivated.
