About Tara

I have taken over 11 years of piano lessons and 7 years of vocal lessons, and am currently studying for my Bachelor’s in Choral Music Education at Brigham Young University-Idaho! I started teaching voice and piano lessons last year and love helping students learn to free their voice and enjoy singing together. I have also enjoyed being a tutor for BYUI's Voice Diction and Music Theory lab.

Recently I sang with the choirs, performed in an Opera Scenes production, and also directed an A Cappella group on BYUI campus. I am passionate about growing our musical abilities so we can share the gift of music with our communities.

About the lesson

I meet students where they are at. I take an individualized approach for each of my students. Each person recognizes good singing differently and I help them recognize the healthy approaches for their own voice. I teach healthy singing habits that students can take with them going forward in their singing endeavors.

We will celebrate success together. Learning to free the voice correctly is a process and I aim to bring confidence to what you already do well. We will build on good habits and create new ones.

My piano lessons also build on your current strengths and what you are doing well in. To grow musically it is so important to build confidence in what we do well. I help students see the big picture from the very beginning.

I will help you learn a variety of repertoire depending on your level. Bring songs that you like to sing and we will incorporate those as well.

I am most available in the afternoons Mon-Thurs 3:30-6:30pm MST. Monday is currently booked till 4:30pm MST, Tues I am unavailable 4:30-5:30pm MST, Thursday I am unavailable 5-6pm MST. and I am also available Saturday mornings 9am-12pm MST. Message me and I'd love to work something out.

I offer online lessons and lessons at my home in Mesa. I do not travel to students.
