About Rayce
Hi, I'm Rayce!
I am a Screenwriter with experience in many genres and mediums. I have written for Film, TV, Animation, and Video Games. I have been writing and telling stories since I was a child with nothing more than an overactive imagination. I believe the stories we tell are what defines us as humans. Every culture on earth has kept their traditions, values, and way of life preserved in their stories. I believe everyone has a story to tell, what's yours?
I graduated from Vancouver Film School and have had my projects optioned by top media companies (DHX Media, Corel). I have story-edited everything from 5-minute comedy sketches to sprawling 600-page epic fantasy novels.

Each class will be divided into two parts:
Theory:
Develop fundamental skills in storytelling, structure, character, format, and genre. Students will also learn the best way to outline and flesh out their ideas before heading into writing their first draft. Basically, I will guide you through every step in bringing your story to life. This knowledge won't only apply to a single story, but will be the foundation of knowledge which you can pull from for everything you will ever write.
As classes progress, I will demonstrate various methods used for story-planning, including Beat sheets, One-pages, Scene Outlines, and more.
Workshopping:
I will review and provide detailed written and oral feedback on your work.
Depending on how experienced you feel, I will personalize my teaching for you. It doesn't matter if you've never written a single word before, or if you are confident in your skills and would just like someone to bounce ideas off of and get notes from, I will make sure your work is well-taken care of.
There will be no homework, it will be up to you to complete your writing before the next session. I will provide personal deadlines if it helps, but a key skill to being a successful writer is having the power to get the work done without any external motivators, no one is going to put your words on the page for you.
