About Sean
I am an experienced mathematics educator with a calm and patient perspective on learning. I have tutored and taught students mathematics-related topics from a variety of disciplines (pure mathematics, physics, engineering, economics) and at a variety of education levels (high-school, college, undergraduate, postgraduate).
I can tutor any mathematics topic from high-school to post-grad (I have personally lectured the majority of an undergraduate mathematics degree, so I know all the ins and outs), and can also help with physics, engineering, economics and statistics. If there are any other topics you'd like to learn from me which I haven't mentioned, please reach out and we'll see what I can do.
Experience:
10 years of teaching experience in mathematics, as a private tutor, ANU workshop demonstrator, and ANU mathematics lecturer. I have personally lectured a significant portion of the ANU's undergraduate mathematics program, with glowing teaching reviews.
Qualifications:
- 99+ ATAR
- PhD in mathematics.
- Teaching qualifications as both a lecturer and workshop demonstrator from the ANU.
- First class honours in mathematics.
- Awards for top undergraduate mathematics student in my third and fourth (honours) year of my undergraduate degree.
- Straight High Distinctions for all science courses undertaken at university.

My approach to teaching is based on ensuring that my students have a solid foundation to build upon, and then providing them with the tools and strategies required to develop their own intuition and capabilities. My breadth of experience and my research-level knowledge allows me to tailor these tools and strategies to the student and their objectives. This may involve personal lectures, custom-designed questions, reference recommendations, or even physical models for visualisation and exploration (all methods I have used before).
