About Cruz
I have spent twenty remarkable years teaching physics to more than 940 students and I remain as passionate about the subject today as when I began. My academic credentials include a doctoral degree in theoretical physics and a long career as a university lecturer before I expanded into private tutoring. I have taught on three continents and have deep knowledge of multiple educational systems including A-level IB AP and university physics. Many of my former students are now professors engineers medical physicists and researchers contributing to fields from renewable energy to particle physics. I am widely recognized for my ability to explain the most challenging concepts with clarity and humor and for my encyclopedic knowledge of physics history and applications. I have authored textbooks examination guides and popular science articles. My teaching has been honored with multiple awards and I regularly deliver keynote lectures at physics education conferences. Outside of teaching I play classical piano study the history of science and mentor disadvantaged students through scholarship programs. I believe that physics is the greatest intellectual adventure available to young minds and I consider it my life's work to make that adventure accessible to every student.

Over two decades of teaching physics I have developed a masterful approach that combines intellectual rigor with pedagogical warmth. My method is fundamentally Socratic using carefully crafted questions to guide students from their current understanding to new insights. I teach all branches of physics mechanics electromagnetism thermodynamics optics and modern physics with equal depth and enthusiasm. For each topic I begin with the historical and philosophical context showing students how physical theories emerged from human curiosity and experimental ingenuity. Mathematical treatment is always preceded by physical intuition which I build through demonstrations analogies and thought experiments. I teach students to construct and analyze physical models identifying assumptions simplifications and limitations. Problem-solving is treated as a creative act requiring physical insight mathematical skill and critical evaluation. I emphasize the interconnectedness of physics showing how conservation laws unify mechanics and electromagnetism and how quantum mechanics underpins modern technology. For exam preparation I provide comprehensive coverage of syllabus content with particular attention to the extended written responses and multi-step calculations that distinguish top grades. I also mentor students in experimental design data analysis and the communication of scientific results.
