Lessons in public speaking for high school students (students from any place welcome) through webcam - from a software engineer

About the lesson

Hello, I am Lakshmi and I am thrilled to be here to offer you classes in public speaking. The classes will be held via webcam, so location is not a problem! I am a software engineer and right now am also juggling my masters in social work. I am a good orator and have presented numerous speeches and presentations all through my school, college and professional career years. I have also had the good fortune to observe a good number of great public speakers, which has helped me to pick up skills and tips for good communication.
This class is being offered mainly for beginners i.e those of you who would like to try your hand at public speaking, or want to prepare for a speaking event coming up, or who are plain curious as to what goes into the making of a good orator. Be rest assured that anyone can be a good public speaker, it just takes a little bit of practice !!
In these classes, I would be taking you through the basics of good communication skills, how to appear confident when you speak, the verbal and non verbal cues, and how to appear your best in situations when you might not be very sure of the topic on which you are speaking. There would be practice sessions in which you would be encouraged to try out your public speaking skills, and we can analyse how well you have done and what may be improved.
