Find the best basketball trainers in Affton

Seven core skills form the foundation of basketball at every level. Even pros keep drilling them every week.

• Shooting starts with balanced feet and a steady elbow. A smooth follow-through finishes the shot.
• Dribbling and passing let you handle pressure and find open teammates. Both skills start with soft hands.
• Footwork and defense start with a low stance and quick feet. Sliding without crossing your feet is the key.
• Rebounding and conditioning keep you effective late in the game. Box out first and then jump.

A one-on-one tutor fixes bad habits before they stick and adapts every drill to your level.

The average cost of basketball lessons in Affton is around $50/h.

Several factors influence the price:

• Your skill level and what you want to achieve
• The coach's experience and qualifications
• The package you choose (one-off or regular)
• The lesson format (online, at a gym, or at the coach's place)

Online lessons are often more affordable while remaining effective.

Good basketball practice follows a simple routine you can repeat every week. Keep each session to about 45 minutes.

• Warm up for five minutes with light jogging and dynamic stretches. This prepares your body and prevents injuries.
• Drill ball handling with figure-eights and crossovers. Keep your head up while the ball stays low.
• Shoot from five spots and track how many shots you make. Tracking results shows what to fix.
• Play pickup games or two-on-two when you can. Real competition tests what you practiced.

With a tutor, every session has a plan and clear feedback.
