The fundamentals of photography include several key principles.

• Exposure: these three settings balance light and determine depth of field and motion blur.
• Composition: techniques like the rule of thirds and leading lines guide the viewer's eye through a frame.
• Lighting: natural and artificial light sources each create a different feel.
• Focus: choosing what stays crisp and what blurs draws attention where it matters.

These concepts unlock everything that comes next in photography.
