Find private volleyball coaches in Lisbon

The 3-touch rule is a fundamental regulation that shapes how the game is played.

• The basic principle: no team may hit the ball more than 3 consecutive times on their side of the net.
• The typical sequence: most teams follow a bump, set, attack sequence to maximize their offensive options.
• Block contacts: a deflection off the block is not considered a team hit, so the team still has all 3 remaining.
• Violations: if your team contacts the ball more than 3 times, the rally is lost immediately.

Working with a private coach helps you understand and respect the rules while building real game skills.

In Lisbon, expect to pay about $20/h for an hour of volleyball.

Several factors influence the price:

• The level of study and your specific training goals
• The coach's expertise, certifications, and background
• The package you choose (one-off session or regular schedule)
• The teaching mode (in-person court session or video analysis)

Online video analysis sessions are often more affordable while remaining highly effective.

Volleyball can be introduced at various stages, each with its own benefits for development.

• Ages 6–9 (early introduction): drills at this age emphasize balance, catching, and simple ball-handling in a relaxed environment.
• Ages 10–12 (skill-building phase): children at this age have the coordination to absorb technical fundamentals quickly.
• Ages 13–16 (competitive development): this phase is perfect for joining clubs and working on specialized skills like spiking or blocking.
• Adults and late starters: many adults take up volleyball for fitness, and private lessons help them progress faster.

Working with a coach at any age helps players develop faster and avoid bad habits from the start.
