About Robert
I have a strong passion for helping those seeking to improve their English. Below are some details of my background.
I've studied history, French,, and Arabic during my university career. Research for and preparation of essays helped to strengthen my formal written English. I can definitely relate to the experience of learning a new language.
I've volunteered as a teacher's assistant in an ESL class and have instructed a student on exchange as part of a tutoring agency.
I chat with people learning English by phone and via Skype in my spare time.

I feel most able to help intermediate and advanced learners of English.
I like to take a casual and friendly approach that avoids the use of old-fashioned textbooks and exercises. It's much more helpful to be able to hold a conversation than to know all the arcane rules of grammar by heart.
Apart from chatting about different topics, I'll be happy to answer any questions on items of vocabulary you've been wondering about or a passage of text you find confusing.
Accuracy and precision are of great concern to me, so I'll make sure to give you the best explanations possible and do research as needed.
