Visual Communication Design, Entrepreneurship & Creative Education Expert

I'm a multidisciplinary creative professional combining design expertise, business acumen, and educational passion to unlock every learner's potential. With backgrounds spanning visual communication design, entrepreneurship, and teaching, I aspire to create relational environments where creativity and innovation flourish together.

My approach is fluid, multidisciplinary, and deeply personal. We'll spend time understanding who YOU are so we can work together to bring out your emerging creative and entrepreneurial capabilities. Whether you're developing graphic design skills, exploring business concepts, or bridging creativity with commerce, I'll help you discover your unique strengths and value offerings.

As a person with ADHD, I live and breathe the unique strengths and challenges that come with neurodiversity. My goal is to create a space where students feel seen, capable, and safe to explore their creativity and business potential.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Executive MBA (Merit) - Advanced business strategy and entrepreneurship
- Bachelor of Design, majoring in Visual Communication Design, specialising in Advertising (Massey University)
- Graduate Diploma of Teaching (Secondary) in Visual Arts and Technology (Victoria University of Wellington)
- Over 5 years of experience teaching intermediate and secondary levels
- Trained in restorative practice and experienced in working with neurodiverse students
- Genuine commitment to Te Tiriti and tino rangatiranga for Māori.

About the lesson

As a tutor, I specialise in personalised one-on-one instruction, prioritising the mental and emotional well-being of learners of all ages. My teaching style emphasises trust, positive energy, and engaging conversations to create a dynamic learning environment. By incorporating humour and accountability, I foster a growth mindset and maintain high expectations for all students, fostering an environment where "can't" isn't in our vocabulary. Whether you're passionate about painting, brand design, marketing, content writing, film editing, design ethics/psychology, or just general arts and crafts, I'm here to guide you. From mastering traditional techniques to navigating digital tools, I provide comprehensive support for your creative journey. Embrace critical thinking, problem-solving, and design methodologies, whether it's for personal growth or educational enrichment. As a qualified secondary teacher, I can support in the New Zealand Curriculum areas of Art, Design, and Digital Technologies. With experience in a range of formal and informal learning environments, I will focus on your well-being, personality, and strengths to foster your creative competence and visual literacy. I typically prefer two-hour sessions but can accommodate one-hour slots if necessary. Your first free 30-minute session will primarily involve us getting to know each other. Nobody learns when they're uncomfortable, so it's important that we establish a good fit first!
