I have played Chess consistently for decades and have taught formally (and informally) for many, many years!

There are several ways to teach successfully: From the classic wood panel room and stoic silent lessons to a loud "free for all" more entertainment than Chess.
My approach, after many years of teaching and playing, is in-between the above mentioned methods. Yes, Chess needs a certain level of focus and concentration, but "fun" is certainly an integral part of any lesson I teach!
If I am working with a new player or beginner player, there is a bunch of fun lessons to learn the pieces and basic moves. As the students get better, the lessons stay fun, but more challenging!
What sets me apart is great patience for these young players, building confidence at every lesson and drawing upon real-life both from running over the board lessons/tournaments, but also raising 3 children myself, who all play too!
