Hello! My name is Hiroko. I am a native, certified Japanese tutor / coach with five years of experience.
I love cooking, Karaoke, and Aikido.
My lessons are a bit different from typical Japanese classes.
I use a method that combines both “teaching” and “coaching”, so all students— from beginners to advanced— make great progress in their Japanese skills.
Step 1. We set goals together.
Step 2. We make a study plan to achieve your goal.
Step 3. We choose materials that suit your level and objectives.
Step 4. Most importantly, you practice Japanese with me “daily” (even when you don’t have lessons!) through text or audio messages, and I will coach you based on your learning progress.
I believe the most effective way to learn Japanese is for students to study proactively, with my guidance every step of the way!
I’m passionate about helping you reach your goals by providing the right structure, encouragement, and resources tailored to your needs.
I offer both online and in-person (at my Midtown Manhattan office) lessons.
