About Leila

Hi! I'm Leila, a Biology tutor teaching in both English and Russian.

I hold a Medical Degree (MD), a Master's degree in Molecular Medicine, and have experience working in scientific laboratories. My academic background allows me to explain complex biological concepts in a clear, practical, and scientifically accurate way.

I work primarily with students preparing for IB Biology, AP Biology, A-Level Biology, university entrance examinations, and medical school applications.

One of my core beliefs as a tutor is that learning does not have to be a constant source of stress. You don't have to suffer to learn! Many students come to Biology feeling overwhelmed by the amount of content they need to master. While studying certainly requires effort, I don't believe that confusion, exhaustion, and endless memorization are necessary parts of the process.

I aim to create a supportive learning environment where students can ask questions freely, develop confidence in their thinking, and build a genuine understanding of Biology. In my experience, students learn more effectively when they understand how concepts connect together rather than trying to memorize isolated facts.

My goal is not only to help students improve their academic performance but also to help them develop a healthier and more sustainable approach to learning.

About the lesson

Struggling with IB, AP, or A-Level Biology despite spending hours studying?

Many students know more Biology than they think they do but struggle to apply their knowledge effectively in exams. My lessons focus on building a clear understanding of Biology and then learning how to use that knowledge confidently under exam conditions.

I work with students preparing for:
• IB Biology (SL & HL)
• AP Biology
• A-Level Biology
• university entrance exams
• medical school preparation

My teaching style is active, supportive, and discussion-based. Instead of passive memorization, we work through exam-style questions, data analysis, problem-solving, and real biological examples.

During lessons, I help students:
• break down difficult topics into manageable steps,
• improve long-answer structure,
• identify common exam mistakes,
• develop stronger scientific reasoning,
• and understand how exam answers are evaluated.

Whenever appropriate, I use a flipped classroom approach, where students review selected material before the lesson so that our time together can focus on application, discussion, and exam practice.

Whether you need long-term support throughout the academic year or focused preparation before an important exam, lessons are adapted to your goals, level, and timeline.
