About Michael
Hi, I’m Michael. I’m 18 and have recently finished my A-Levels, achieving an A* in Economics. Outside of studying, I enjoy going to the gym, playing padel and football every weekend. At A Level, I studied Economics, History & Business where I achieved an A*AA, and I hope to go to UCL to study Economics & History after my gap year where I’m planning to travel throughout Asia.
I’ve decided to start tutoring because I genuinely enjoy Economics (Who would’ve thought) and I like helping people understand things that they might initially find difficult. I remember being an Economics student and how much easier certain topics became when someone explained them in a way that actually made sense, and that had always happened when I learnt it from someone personally. I’d like to give other students that same experience and hopefully help them develop a genuine interest in the subject, rather than seeing Economics as just another exam they have to pass.

I’ve always found Economics really interesting because it explains so much of what happens in the world around us. I recently achieved an A* in A-Level Economics with over 85% on all 3 papers, and I’d like to use what I’ve learned to help other students feel more confident with the subject.
My lessons are relaxed and focused on actually understanding Economics rather than just memorising loads of definitions and diagrams (although that’s also important). I remember there were topics that seemed confusing at first, so I try to explain things in a simple way and use real-world examples where possible. I’m also happy to go through things as many times as needed as I understand myself that there’s no point moving on if something doesn’t make sense.
Depending on what you need, we can work through topics you’re struggling with, practise exam questions, improve essay structure, or focus on revision before exams. I’ll always try to adapt the lesson around you rather than just following the same structure every time.
I can tutor both GCSE and A Level Economics, whether you’re struggling with the basics or aiming for the top grades. My main goal is simply to make Economics feel less overwhelming and help you become more confident in answering questions on your own.
