About Tom
Hi, I'm a PhD student at Newcastle University and I tutor a range of subjects including GCSE/A Level: English, Film Studies, History and Geography.
I lead a seminar at Newcastle University every week during term time and I have been tutoring many GCSE and A-Level students in the past few years.
I currently tutor several students (individuals and groups of up to six) studying for the upcoming GCSE and A-Level exams. I bring extensive academic expertise and detailed knowledge of the curriculum and mark schemes to all my lessons.
I have seen significant improvements in the subject knowledge, essay-writing and critical thinking skills of my GCSE/A-Level students in the past few years - all of whom have since excelled in their coursework and exams.
I live in North Shields. I have an MA in Modern History from Durham University, a First Class Bachelor's degree from the University of Warwick and an enhanced DBS check. I also have Newcastle University's teaching in higher education qualification and a TEFL certificate.

I can help with exam preparation and revision, homework assistance, reviewing of classwork and coursework as well as the general tutoring of curriculum and critical thinking and research/study skills.
I offer online services (Skype, Zoom, Google Hangouts) especially during the current moment. I usually use Google Docs with students to create a space where we can both take notes, plan and write essays simultaneously. These documents are organised by subject matter and are full of the student's own writing, essay examples, plans, diagrams, pictures and extracts etc. to aid learning and recall.
