About Charlotte
I have studied A-Level Maths, Biology and Chemistry and achieved an A* in each subject. I also specialise tutoring Physics and English from Primary up to GCSE level, having spent over four years working for a tutoring company. I am currently on a gap year and spending my time learning Spanish and tutoring. As a result, I am able to offer beginner Spanish lessons having achieved A0/A1/A2 in the last year. Next year I will be attending medical school. For older students, I am able to also support students in their medical school application, or even just their application to university via UCAS. For younger students, I am able to support their school curriculum, provide revision support or simply cover any areas in Maths/Science/English that will build up a student’s confidence. I am passionate about learning myself and enjoy sharing my knowledge and developing learning techniques to ensure progress in a chosen subject.

My teaching method is based on using a combination of tutoring sessions and homework tasks to develop learning techniques, share knowledge and provide feedback. As we follow a systematic and logical approach to cover different areas depending on the student’s goals, I fundamentally rely on the student completing certain specific tasks I assign in order to solidify learning from the session. I commonly use checklists to ensure both myself and the student are clear on our goals as we work together. The first session of tutoring is based solely on both myself and the student getting to know each other and where we want to arrive on the academic journey. For example, I need to establish a differing approach depending whether the student is working towards an exam or just wants to generally improve. I have experience of both tutoring primary aged children, teenagers and young adults. I assess the needs of the student very efficiently and adapt my approach depending on the speed of progress. Organisation is key when it comes to understanding the subject and working towards a goal. I believe my organised approach ensures a student has a clear focus and we are able to move through content confidently.
